Card Patterns #99 and Papertrey Ink

Happy Friday my dear sweet friends!!! I am so happy today is Friday!!! It's been a great day, but a little taxing on my brain. The computer techs are still working on fixing our Library Software and in the mean-time we are having to adjust for all the discrepancies when checking out books. For the most part I have been enjoying the challenge. I have had to learn where books are located by the Dewey Decimal System rather than relying on the computer. Today however, we checked out a ton of books and we had a lot of steps to follow to make sure we have record of patrons and books alike....whew!!! What a day! Let me just say, computers aren't fool-proof! You always need a back-up plan!

Thank goodness for crafting! I can lose myself in the art of creating and I can relax and let my brain recover! Ah...creating is a balm to my soul!!!

Today I thought it would be fun to take part in the Card Patterns Challenge!!!

Glitzy Birds and Banners

Hi there dear friends!! I am so very excited to share some more Glitzy goodness with you today!!! This time of year, as we draw close to Valentine's day, I tend to feel a little romantic and I pull out my lace, ribbon, buttons and vintage images and put a little shabby chic into my creations! I guess you could say I've got that "Loving Feeling"!!

For my first card, I combined the Hoopla Collection and the pretty pink in the Love Nest Collection and I just love the results!!! This card totally fits my shabby chic mood!

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Paper: Polka and Frames
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Paper: Damask
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Cardstock Stickers: Journaling
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Rub Ons

other supplies:
PTI Cardstock: Rustic White; PTI dies: Victorian Lace Border; PTI Stamps: Love Birds; PTI Felt; Button, Seam Binding and Lace from my stash; Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger: Brushed Corduroy; Copic Marker: E 50 Egg Shell; Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
I colored the white seam binding with a Copic Marker and tied a double bow. I inked the first word in the sentiment and stamped it at the top of the tag. I inked the rest of the stamp and I applied it to the bottom of the tag and then I adhered the birdie rub ons in the middle of the tag. Then, I added a decorative border cut from patterned paper and a pretty button to finish off the bow.

For my second project, I designed a little card for my sweet daughter's birthday. I used the beautiful Love Nest line, a little glitter and added a hand cut banner.

Supplies used:
Glitz Designs "Love Nest" Papers: Damask, Stripe and Polka
Glitz Designs "Love Nest" Glitzers Transparent Stickers
Glitz Designs "Cardstock Stickers" Teeny Alphabet Ivory
Glitz Designs "Bling" Giant Rhinestones Pink Black Green

other supplies:
PTI cardstock: Rustic White; PTI dies: Border Builder Collection; PTI Stamps: Make a Wish and Baby Button Bits; PTI Buttons and Button Twine; Glitter Martha Stewart; Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger: Brushed Corduroy and Crushed Olive.

I stamped the cupcake onto two different types of paper and pieced them together. Then I added glitter to make the frosting shine. I colored the cupcake wrapper with Crushed Olive and Brushed Corduroy ink. The banner is hand-cut and I added Glitz Alphas for the happy sentiment. I hung the banner on button twine and added buttons then I stamped the birthday sentiment and I hand-cut it out as well. For the final touch I layered the cupcake onto a Glitz Design Glitzer to add interest.

Wishing you an absolutely fantabulous day!!!

Little Red Scrapbook Reveal

Happy Thursday evening my dear friends!!!! I am so happy we are approaching the end of the week!! I'll let you in on a little secret....I have a hot date with my husband and some dear friends on Saturday night and I can't wait!!! Until then, I have a lot of work to take care of and posting my Little Red Scrapbook designs is one of those things!!!

I just loved this month's Little Red Scrapbook kit with all it's fun colors and tons of flowers and goodies to play with!!
This is one of my favorite card designs! I wanted to take advantage of the different patterned papers in the kit and I also wanted to incorporate one of my favorite Papertrey Ink stamp sets!!!
I stamped PTI's Little Bitty Birds onto some cardstock and patterned paper and glued them to a chipboard flourish. I stamped the sentiment onto the chipboard tag and added some parts of the Noteworthy transparency sheet. I glued the flourish on the top and added some bling and a bow. Way fun!

It was my turn to provide a sketch for Little Red Scrapbook. I used one of my older layouts for inspiration and this is what I came up with:
and here is my take on the sketch:
I used my grandpuppy as inspiration for this layout. The journaling states: we may not have any grandkids yet, but we have an awfully sweet Grand Puppy!
I used my Egg Shell Copic Marker to add some color to the white flower. I just love my Copics!! I also cut the gate in half so it would show above and below the patterned paper.
I borrowed a picture from my dad for this layout!!! Thanks Dad!!! Your photography is amazing! I totally love this photo of Heidi and I wanted to use the colors of the kit to highlight the black and white photo!!!
The Bo Bunny Papers had so many opportunities for fussy cutting which is my very favorite technique!! I just love making my own embellies!! I used some photos that were taken during Christmas break of my kids celebrating their relationships!!!! What a blessing my kids are!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by sweet friends!!! I appreciate you!!!

Birthday Wishes and Little Red Scrapbook Sneaks!!!

Hi there sweet friends!!!!! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!! It has been quite exciting in our home as Benny's car broke down and I had to be chauffeur for a few days. We also had our microwave catch on fire. What an awful smell an electrical fire leaves in the air! Thank goodness for Scentsy!!! I doubled the scent in the warming pot and that helped tremendously!!

Thursday was our sweet daughter's 25th birthday!!! Boy do I feel old! I just can't even believe that I have a 25 year old daughter!!! Where has the time gone???
This picture was taken during the surprise party we had for her while they were visiting during Christmas break. Isn't she the cutest!!! I love my sweet girl so much!!! Hoopla Birthdays!!!!

Hi there dear friends!!! I am so excited to bring you my first post as a Glitz Design Team member!!!! I really wish you could see the smile on my face right now...It's the biggest smile ever!!! I just love this company and being a designer for Glitz Designs is a dream come true!!!

While contemplating about what I would do for my first projects, I was creating a banner for my daughter's surprise birthday party and the light bulb immediately went off! Birthday cards!!!! January and February are birthday months in our family, and since the Hoopla line is all about celebrations and birthdays, birthday cards became the perfect choice!
For the first card I decided to play with the Hoopla Cake Stamp. I stamped the image onto 3 different patterned papers and fussy cut each layer out. I die cut a piece of cardstock and added rub ons that I cut apart making it look like they covered the whole die cut. No use putting rub ons underneath the focal point! Of course I had to add punches, ribbon, and a pretty button!!

Supplies used:
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Papers: Polka, Pipework, Frames
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Rub Ons
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Clear Acrylic Stamps: Hoopla Cake

other supplies:
Kaiser Craft Pearls, Joann's Buttons, PTI Die: Mat Stack #4, Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink by Ranger, PTI Rustic White cardstock, punches: Stampin up and Martha Stewart, ribbon from my stash
For the second card, I stamped a Glitz Design Fancy Frame onto the backside of the Hoopla Zebra papers and heat embossed it. I cut out the frame and attached it to the front of my card. Then I adhered the rub ons and added some tulle, felt and a flower. So easy and way fun!Supplies used:
Glitz Design "Hoopla" papers: Zebra and Polka
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Rub Ons
Glitz Design "Distressing" Clear Acrylic Stamps: Fancy Frames
Glitz Design Tulle

other supplies:
PTI Cardstock: Rustic White and Black, Tim Holtz Ideology Trimmings: Lavish, Kaiser Craft pearls, PTI felt, Versamark Ink, and Ranger Super Fine Detail black embossing powder

Wishing you the happiest of days!!!
