Use Your Scraps Challenge!!!

I just can't believe it's already 2 days past Christmas!!! You make all those preparations to get ready for the Big Day and it all goes by soooo quickly!! Like me, I imagine that you have lots of Christmasy patterned paper laying around your scraproom that you just can't bear to throw away...well I have great news for you!! I have an easy card pattern that will use up those scraps and it will make a great Thank You card as well!! I used some Merrymint papers from American Crafts that I had laying on my scrap table and they were perfect for this project!!!

This card starts with a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" base. Add a 2 x 5 1/2" strip over the fold and you have the start of a cute little card. Stamp some cute images on your base and add some embellies and you have the perfect Thank You Card for after the holidays!!!

I stamped some basic snowflakes and a sentiment on the Kraft Card Base...by the way Kraft paper is one of my all-time papers to use as card bases and you can find it at AC Bailey!!!

I stamped the sentiment on some scrap paper and I cut it out to use as a mask. I adhered the mask to the card base with removable adhesive.

I stamped the tree images over the masked sentiment with clear embossing ink and some clear glittered embossing powder and used the heat gun to set it.

Then I peeled off the mask and added all the embellishments and it looks like it took you hours to make a special thank you note for your friends and loved ones!! Only you will be all the wiser!!

Post a link to your project here and I will put your name in a drawing for a 7 Gypsies mini Album
I hope you have a ton of fun using up your scraps!!!!

So very thankful today!!

I can't tell you how very thankful I feel today!!
In these uncertain times, one thing I can be certain of is the love of my family.
Heidi is home for a few days and Matt and Beth will be home on Thursday. How awesome is that??
We sat around this afternoon and just talked and enjoyed one another's company. A mom can't ask for anything more than that!! Thank goodness for the holidays that bring families together...There's no place like home!!!

Scrapping the Music

The scrapping the music challenge this week is a fun one based on National Lampoon's Christmas
vacation!!!! I hope you all take some fun Christmas Pictures, get out some Christmas paper and give this one a whirl!!!

Here's my take:
These pictures are from last year and of course my kids were already over the whole picture taking idea. So of course I have to scrap these silly pictures of my kids letting the "Season carry them away"!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful year to come!!!

Little Red Scrapbook Projects

I had so much fun with this month's Little Red Scrapbook kit!!! Collage Press Joyride papers are full of fun patterns and colors that are perfect for any kind of page. I scrapped several Christmas pictures...but your projects don't have to be Christmas related by any means! I found it interesting that I chose such sad pictures for these papers...the papres are so fun....who knows what I was thinking at the time. I just love the look on Benny's face in this first layout. Why did I feel it was necessary for him to sit on Santa's lap?? Poor baby, I would definitely rethink it if I had to do it all again!!
This next layout isn't Christmas themed at all...I just had to use those cute little airplanes in a layout!! I am so concerned about my boy going off to war, I had to scrap my wish list for him. Joy, Peace...all those things I hope for his life. Please dear Lord, protect my son!!!! Isn't he the cutest!!!
Bethany looks so cute in all her Mickey Mouse presents!! You can't really see it in this photo, but her face is all lit up and that is why I chose this title. She truly is full of wonder!

This Vintage photo of Santa is one of my favorites this year. I have used it in so many different projects and I just had to use it with these papers. I had an empty spot on the wall and thought that this idea would fill it nicely.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek today!!!
I hope these projects give you an idea or two for some projects of your own!!!

Merry Christmas,

Only 12 more days!!!

Hi everyone!! I can't believe there are only 12 more days until Christmas...which also means less than two weeks until my kids come home from Seattle!! I just can't wait!! It's going to
be such a wonderful time having them home! It's a good thing I have 12 days still, I still have so much to do!! Decorations still need to go up, baking still needs to be done and stocking stuffers still need to be purchased! I am starting on candy making today with some Rocky Road fudge.
It is the easiest candy to make and one of the tastiest too!! Yum!!!

I have been working on some fun Christmas Cards today with Papertrey Ink Vintage Ornament Stamps. I am so loving this stamp set, but then these days I am loving anything Vintage!!! I used some Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses patterned papers and my favorite red check ribbon. The greenery is a MCGill Punch and I also added some fruit punch Stickles for sparkle.
Of course I had to do something fun inside:

I have one last layout to share with you from the Scrapping the Music Challenge. The Scrapping the Music challenge is my very favorite challenge site and the layouts I do for STM are usually motivated from the depths of my heart and this layout is no exception. The song that was used was called Love, Me. Of course, I had to turn it around and do a layout based on the love my sweetie and I share. We are so lucky even after 25 years of marriage to have the love that we have for each other and I do believe our Faith in God plays a big part in the fact that we are still in Love after all these years......I do know that he will always Love Me!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!!!
I hope you have a wonderful evening!!
Merry Christmas,
Kristii

Happy Friday!!!

Don't you just love Fridays?? The weekend is almost here and I am looking so forward to it!!
It will be the first weekend since the first of November that I will be home with no deadlines or appointments. I am going to relax and get those things done that have been so neglected!
I plan on decorating for Christmas and getting ready for the kids to arrive on Christmas Eve. I want to make some Rocky Road, Fudge, Cranberry Cookies, Almond Toffee, and of course we have to make some Sugar Cookies and I have the best recipe ever. They are soft and perfect for frosting!!!If you are interested in the recipe, send me off an email and I will get it to you! You will love it!!

I had a lot of fun scrapping with Erika and Elizabeth this afternoon. It is my Customer Appreciation Christmas Party and I am hoping to see more of you tomorrow!! The hours are 2-10 and I have a free make and take just for you!!! I appreciate all of you so much!!! You make my life richer and I am so thankful for each and every one of you!!!

So Sketchy News
I haven't shared my last So Sketchy layout, yet. Ally is closing her wonderful sketch site down, which is so sad! She is so amazing and talented, and I am sure we will continue to see her work in many places. Thanks Ally for all the fun and motivation!!! You rock girl!!!
Benny and our next door neighbor built a cute little snowman during our first major snow of the year!! Isn't he cute??? I used last year's October Afternoon papers. I have been hoarding them forever and it is time I used them!! Ben wasn't impressed with the pink snowflakes, but since our neighbor was in the picture, he thought it would be ok.

Last but not least, I still have two BG Eskimo kisses Christmas Tree album kits left. They include:
1 Maya Road Christmas Tree Album
6 sheets BG Eskimo Kisses Double-side papers
1 Pkg. BG Eskimo Kisses Buttons
